PROPOSED DESIRED FUTURE CONDITIONS PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
District representatives for Groundwater Management Area 11 (GMA 11) at their last meeting approved Proposed Desired Future conditions (DFCs) for relevant aquifers located within GMA 11, and the group is now welcoming public comment. Neches & Trinity Valleys Groundwater Conservation District (NTVGCD) is one of four groundwater conservation districts that makeup up GMA 11. At the April 28, 2021, GMA representatives voted unanimously to approve Proposed Desired Future Conditions to present to the public for comment. The public comment period officially began Thursday, April 29, 2021 and lasts for 90 days. Toward the end of the 90-day public comment period, the NTVGCD will hold a public hearing to receive both written or oral comments on the proposed DFCs. After the public comment period has ended, each of the four groundwater conservation districts will compile a summary of relevant comments received and present this summary for consideration at the next GMA 11 meeting, which is scheduled for August 18, 2021.
